Fall Ball 2015
Hi Everyone!
We are in the process of trying to solidify some Fall
Ball plans and need your help in order to do so. I know some of you filled out
the form back in May, and I just want to double check to be sure that no one’s
plans have changed/give you an opportunity to sign up if you haven’t already.
We would love to have anyone who would like to play have the opportunity to do
so. We are opening this option up to incoming freshmen in the hopes of adding
an additional team, so more people will have the opportunity to play. Just a
reminder that this has NOTHING to do with the high school team. The only
commonality is that we are the high school coaches. With that being said, playing or not playing on this team in
no way affects your status on the high school team.
Please look at the listed dates and sign up for the
things that you would like to participate in. For those of you who were on the
high school team last year, but are playing with other teams this summer,
please fill this out as well. If there are weekends that don’t conflict with
your other teams and you would like to play with us, please sign up.
Using the Google Doc Link and the chart that I have provided (https://docs.google.com/ document/d/1l55qvQvlTQ39Cf- UQSvRm_mE4LW34RjY6CRT8Q06T0A/ edit?usp=sharing), please indicate
which of the leagues/tournaments you can commit to play in this coming fall.
Please mark YES or NO. Do not
put MAYBE. We need to know FINAL for sure
numbers so that we can have a correct estimate of how many people to expect.
The cost of each league/tournament will depend on the number of girls attending
the tournament. Once you have committed to a tournament you will be required to
pay that fee and will be required to participate. Please do not commit to a tournament and then back out! This
puts everyone in an extremely bad situation. It affects the cost of the
tournament for each player, as well as the tournament’s that we decide to
participate or not participate in. Our decisions are based on the number of
girls who commit and if you say you’re going to do something and then don’t, or
say that you can’t do something and then you can, it puts us in a bad situation.
Once I have heard back from everyone we will make a
determination on how many teams we can have for the Fall and who is playing
what weekend. It will be similar to the summer in choosing who plays in what
tournament, etc. Again, I would just like to emphasize: playing or not playing on this team in no way affects your status on
the high school team.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to
contact me: jill.thackeray@nebo.edu
PLEASE
FILL OUT THE GOOGLE DOC BY Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the LATEST!

Leagues
Salt Lake: We are looking at possibly adding a Salt
Lake league if there is interest, so that we could play some different teams
than the ones that we usually play in Orem. Games would be played at the
following fields: Redwood Recreation, Vista Ball Park, and Valley Complex.
Games would be on Monday nights around 5:30 pm. There is a possibility we could
do both, or if there is enough interest, do the Salt Lake league instead of
Orem League. We just kind of need to get an idea before we can make plans.
Tournaments
College Fall Showcase—We are on the “list” to play this
weekend, but they were already full by the time I contacted them. This is “open
to travel teams that can compete with colleges and have players that are not
signed to play at a college. Games are against college teams. The amount of
teams that play this weekend depend on the number of college teams that come.”
Sign up if this is something you are interested in. It may or may not happen,
depending on how many college teams go.
Courtney Osborne—Max Morgan will be taking a team to
this since they organize and help run this tournament. If there is enough
interest, I will take another team so that we can help support this cause. Sign
up if you are interested in playing either with Max or with us.
The Last Stand—I added a couple of USSSA tournaments as
possible tournaments, since there is nothing in October for ASA.
